Why Self-Compassion is Essential
Self-compassion is a practice; it is not a switch we can just flip on. Self-compassion is a habit we form by practicing kindness in the moment many times throughout our day. When you are kind to yourself, then you can be kind with others. As the Dalai Lama said, “One must be compassionate to oneself before external compassion.”
Quote of the Week: “A moment of self-compassion can change your entire day. A string of such moments can change the course of your life.” —Christopher K. Germer
This Week’s Power Phrase: “I am kind to myself. I am doing the best I can. I got it next time!”
